A week before the wedding, the groom's future mother-in-law, played by Antonella Larrea, kills his bachelor party in front of the whole family: not under her roof, not that week. He takes it as proof she can't stand him. The truth is that she objects to the publicity, not the party. With her daughter upstairs sleeping off brunch mimosas, she has her own idea of a send-off, one that stays strictly in the family.

Efficiency is the first episode's strength. It opens on the public humiliation, capped by her advice that a good marriage means always doing what the woman says, a line that doubles as a mission statement. From there it's all logistics: the daughter heads upstairs for an hour, and the groom is told to follow his future mother-in-law. Her reasoning is pragmatic and slightly ruthless, since parties get talked about and this won't, and she warns him to keep quiet because her daughter is a light sleeper. It closes on a single word, 'Surprise.' Heat is mostly suggestion, but Antonella's control of every scene is fun to watch.
