I Can See Through Everyone But Her review
Owen signs up for a paid drug trial, swallows one pill, and discovers he can see through people's clothes and, as it turns out, a great deal more. The one exception is Dr. Antonella Larrea, who runs the study and is married to the man who dosed him. It's a high-concept premise with a ticking clock: according to the setup, Owen has ten days before the effect burns out his eyes, which gives the series a mystery alongside the obvious temptation.
Tonally, the free episodes balance comedy and unease surprisingly well. Episode 1 plays Owen's new power for giddy laughs as he beams through a conversation with his landlady about overdue rent, before Dr. Larrea coolly informs him she knows he can't see through her. Episode 2 turns darker: Owen is panicking after glimpsing his own skull, his nose is bleeding, and the doctor responds with clinical calm and a test disguised as a game, in which every hidden mark he identifies on her costs her a piece of clothing. It's a clever, charged sequence that reveals her as controlled, curious and slightly dangerous, with crisp dialogue.
The closing exchange hints that his sight may be getting through to her after all. For fans of a dominant, enigmatic lead and a hook with brains, this is an easy recommendation; anyone wanting a straightforward domestic scenario may find the sci-fi a distraction.
