Our verdict
Tight, tense and better written than most, with a bully of a boss who makes every stolen moment feel riskier. Worth unlocking for fans of high-stakes cheating stories with a commanding lead.
Best for: Fans of risky cheating stories with a commanding boss's wife
What is Midnight Compartment about?
You share Compartment 12 with your boss and his hot wife that you've always wanted for one overnight train ride, and she's the one who keeps closing the distance, but you can't get caught!
Midnight Compartment review
A booking mix-up on a company trip puts you in Compartment 12, the sleeper your boss is sharing with his wife, Veronica Parker. He treats you like an errand boy and wants you out in the corridor; she overrules him, and from then on it is her, not you, steering every move. The premise works because the stakes are simple and clear: you have wanted her for a long time, and getting caught means losing your job.
Both free episodes run on proximity. In the first, she tells you that her husband's favorite employee is her favorite too, then complains about the cold and suggests you help with that. The second is sharper: she covers with a quick excuse when he stirs, he wakes from a nightmare about her leaving him, and at the next station she maneuvers him into fetching coffee so you can stay behind with the luggage. Her insistence that you address her as "ma'am" adds a neat power-play twist, and the boss's petty barking makes him an easy man to cross. Dialogue is brisk and the comic timing works.
Three premium episodes remain, 36 tokens all told. The second free episode closes on a station stop and a few stolen minutes, a smart cliffhanger that keeps the can't-get-caught tension alive. If you like cheating drama with a dominant woman and a husband who almost notices, this is one of the stronger picks. Skip it if a lead who gets bossed around by everyone is not your thing.
