Our verdict
A sharp, fast-moving revenge drama with genuinely good dialogue and a terrific cliffhanger; one of the easier 36-token recommendations for fans of forbidden affairs.
Best for: Revenge-drama fans who like sharp banter and a reluctant silver fox
What is My Ex's Hot Dad about?
Dumped for another woman, Sienna takes her revenge by seducing her ex's irresistible silver-fox dad. As their forbidden affair explodes into an all-out family war, nobody's secrets stay buried for long.
My Ex's Hot Dad review
Sienna spent two years practically living in her boyfriend Tyler's family home, so when he dumps her for someone new, she knows exactly where to strike. She turns up to collect her things while Tyler is away at the lake and finds his father, Marcus, a silver fox whose wife walked out on him and who already thinks his son is an idiot. Told partly through Marcus's wry narration, the series turns a breakup errand into a shared decision neither of them can take back.
Few short series write dialogue this purposeful. The flirtation has real wit: when Sienna asks Marcus for help with her back and he protests that she shouldn't ask him things like that, she shoots back, 'Then stop doing it so well.' Their mutual frustration with Tyler gives the chemistry a believable foundation, and Marcus's hesitation ('Sienna, he's my son' / 'Exactly') plays as dark fun rather than angst. Episode two adds a sneering new girlfriend, a sliver of backstory about Tyler's absent mother, and a deliberate seduction in which Marcus warns there's no undoing it. The pacing never sags.
The free part ends on a gem: Tyler announces he's driving home tonight as a surprise, and the reply is simply that they'd better hurry. That cliffhanger earns its paywall, and the remaining three episodes cost 36 tokens in total. If you like revenge plots with sharp tongues and a reluctant lead who gives in, keep going. If you need sympathetic characters, be warned that almost everyone here is behaving badly, which is precisely the point.
