Mona's Worst Enemy review
Mona Newman likes her life, and her causes, neatly organized. Then she ends up sharing a house with David, her gym-obsessed, supremely confident stepbrother and the last man she'd ever respect. Mona is an adult with strong opinions and zero patience for him, and the series promises a running war of wits and stubbornness that gradually knocks her worldview sideways.
Episode 1 plays instantly, with episode 2 after a free sign-up, and the opener finds Mona chanting “Save the Earth” at a demonstration before David rolls up and leans on the horn. What follows is broad, crude comedy: he openly ogles her, she fires back insults about his total lack of game, and he blames a sudden swerve on a raccoon crossing the road. The humor is lowbrow and some lines are blunt enough to make you wince, but there's a nice turn at the end, when Mona privately admits the staring was “kind of cute. Kind of funny,” a hint that her contempt is thinner than she lets on. Heat stays at ogling and banter.
This is a long one: fifteen episodes, with thirteen premium ones costing 156 tokens, more than a single month's Premium allowance. That's a big ask when the opener leans this hard on crass jokes. If you enjoy bickering stepsiblings and a long, slow thaw, the extended run could pay off; if the opener's humor doesn't land, the rest is a hard sell.
