This one trades apartments and office floors for a hidden elven realm. The narrator is a mortal thief who slips into the sunken court to steal a sacred stone and gets caught in the garden by its ruler, Thalindra Sol-Kaelen. The princess doesn't execute him. She decides to keep him. The official setup promises that this bond will put her crown at risk and provoke a jealous betrothed, which gives the series more political scaffolding than most Candy Shorts.
The free episode is brief but confident. The narration has a storybook cadence, opening on the legend that no one who enters the sunken court ever walks back out. Thalindra is written as regal and dangerous, a woman who calls herself a goddess and means it. The thief's charm balances her out: he answers a death threat with a wry "Would 'I'm sorry' help?" and, asked what he really came for, says he thinks he's looking at it. Corny? Somewhat. But the exchange still crackles, and her ruling that he will stay as hers makes a strong, possessive closer.
