Lusting for daddy's watchdog

Lusting for daddy's watchdog review

Solene Yoon, an adult heiress with a famously protective father, has been sent off to an island getaway with a minder she never asked for: a cold ex-military bodyguard who follows her everywhere. It's a classic setup. She's restless and provocative, he answers everything with a clipped "Yes, Miss Yoon," and the official setup adds that his contract explicitly rules out sex while her father never stops watching.

The free episode moves quickly. Solene opens by grumbling about being chaperoned in paradise and tests her bodyguard's patience, and then a pushy stranger at the bar grabs her and won't take no for an answer. The bodyguard steps in without hesitation, and when he's threatened with a call to her father, he calmly says he'd do it again. It's a tidy way to establish him as the real protector and then flip the power, because Solene ends the scene accusing him of jealousy and demanding that he not lie to her. The writing is serviceable rather than sharp, and the stranger is a cardboard villain, but that last exchange has genuine spark.

Only episode 1 is free, and the rest of this five-episode series costs 36 tokens. That's reasonable, but the free part only gets as far as one charged argument, so the slow burn the synopsis promises is all premium. If you like a bratty lead and a stoic protector, you'll probably want to see how long his professionalism holds. If you're after something more original, or heat right away, the opener doesn't make that case.
